This course is for adults working with children aged 3 to 4 years. It is the third course of the four courses in the Foundation course package.

 

Why This Course Matters

The child does not come to language as a school subject.
The child comes to language as a natural need to express, to connect, and to understand the world.

At this age, the child is already absorbing language from the environment —
listening, speaking, and gradually organising these impressions.

In MontShala, the child is helped to become conscious of this language,
to use it meaningfully, and to enrich it further.

Language grows as the child:

• expresses thoughts
• shares feelings
• connects with people
• gives names to experiences

This is the foundation of communication and understanding.

 

The Foundation is Already Prepared

Exercises of Practical Life and Sensorial Activities lay the foundation for Language.

Practical Life develops:

• coordination
• concentration
• independence
• control of movement

Sensorial Activities refine:

• the senses
• perception
• discrimination

What the hand has practised and what the senses have refined
now begin to find clearer expression through language.

 

What the Child Learns

At this stage, the child is guided to become aware of:

• sounds
• words
• patterns in language

The child begins to connect:

• sounds with symbols

Through this, the child develops:

• clarity in speech
• richness in vocabulary
• readiness for expression

Materials such as:

• Object Box
• Sandpaper Letters

support this process and prepare the child indirectly for reading and writing.

The focus is not early reading,
but clarity, expression, and readiness.
