This course is for adults working with children aged 3 to 4 years. It is the first of the four Level 1 courses for the foundation course of this age group.

Why This Course Matters

Children at this age have a natural attraction toward real-life work.They want to do what adults do — to pour, sweep, fold, button, wash, and care for their surroundings.

When given meaningful opportunities, the child works with deep concentration and joy.

These simple, purposeful activities are not just tasks.
They help the child:

• refine movement
• build independence
• create a sense of order and responsibility

This is the beginning of inner discipline.

What the Child Learns

Through repeated practice, the child learns to:

Exercises of Practical Life lay the foundation for all other areas of Montessori work.

They prepare the child to work with:

• Sensorial materials with control and awareness
• Language activities with clarity and expression
• Arithmetic materials with precision and order

Without this foundation, further learning lacks stability.
